The Anaheim Halloween Parade has been a tradition in Orange County for almost 100 years! The parade itself has a true home-spun vintage feel to it…with members of the community making floats, schools bringing out their marching bands and families creating all sorts of unique costumes. Our first venture into the parade was in 2018 where we were offered the opportunity to creating the closing float of the parade. We built a float inspired by ghost stories and fairy tales with a giant poison candle-covered cake atop it.
Enjoy this video of our 2018 float creation.
Fricka, the world’s smallest dragon, led our float. Fricka will surely be cast in many exhibits, events and stories in the future. He is 7 feet long, almost 5 feet tall and 2.5 feet wide. He was created with paper mâché, fabric, illustration board, bakeable clay and acrylic finish.
Our 2019 float reflected our love of ghost stories and fairytales. “Princess Rose” sat atop a snowy throne covered in red poppies. Our “Moon Rabbit” character marched along twinkling out the notes to a song on his xylophone. The storybook author shared his giant glowing book with the crowd of onlookers. You can listen to the original song that played along with us on the route below.
For the Anaheim Halloween Parade held on October 29th in 2022 we created the “Misfit Emporium”. As the story goes, once upon a time, an enchanting group of magical misfits wandered the lands. We used this inspiration to invite the audience into our colorful world with our parade entry, a collection of wonderfully strange creatures and characters inspired by ghost stories & fairy tales.
Our collection of characters included the “Light Queen of the Enchanted Forest” in a glowing gown, the “Silver Moon Lady”, the “Forest Guardians” and more! Enjoy seeing some of them below.

Our “three witches” trapped in birdcages were a show-stopper! Each birdcage was handmade, over five feet tall and was topped with a hand-carved pumpkin representing the emotion of the witch trapped inside.
